EXP3. 1 mashup of 3 news articles

Oprah Winfrey
I have always admired independent thinkers, those with the courage, faith and intuition to forge their own ways. In business, these pioneers take calculated risks; care less about bottom lines and more about ideas and innovation; and are intent on bettering the world along the way. Oprah, 57, defines this approach. She has not only made it to the top with the cards stacked against her, but she has also made extraordinary contributions to our global community through her philanthropic efforts.

Jonathan Ive
Ive was only too delighted to describe the philosophy -- and all the hard work -- behind the design of the G5.
"I guess every time you do something, you feel particularly pleased with something you just developed," he said. "This one was really hard."

Ive explained that if someone does not understand how something works, it becomes magical. He said: “This [the iPad] defines our vision, our sense of what’s next.”
Ive has led the Apple design team since 1996 and reports directly to Jobs. His main achievement has been making Apple’s products instantly recognisable from their minimalistic curves, challenging the notion that technological products are purely fuctional.  Early translucent Macintosh computers bore the stamp of Ive’s originality, making them a trendy accessory for the modern home. All produced in simple black and white models, every Apple computer and gadget bears the hallmark of Ive’s motto: “Sorry, no beige.”

Lady Gaga
Gaga is happiest, as she says, "living every day somewhere between reality and fantasy at all times." The only tense part of our conversation occurs when I try to transition her fantasy into reality, asking about the new look--a series of sharp bones that protrude from Gaga's shoulders, cheekbones, and temples. How long does it take to apply the makeup and prosthetics to her face and arms?
